Community Newspapers
The Choice of Atlantic Canadians
Atlantic Canada's weekly community newspapers offer an excellent route
into hundreds of thousands of households. Most of the 504,211 readers live in rural
communities, not well serviced by other media. Often "their
paper" is the only source they consult for making purchases. Even
in markets supported by provincial dailies or radio and television
stations from urban areas, the local weekly still comes out in front as
the choice for making buying decisions.
Through our linkages and partnerships, we can take your message far
beyond Atlantic Canadian borders delivering you a provincial or
Canada-wide readership.
You can choose up to 655 weekly newspapers, region-by-region, or
province-by-province for a total circulation up to 6,975,316 copies.

Network Program
The adAtlantic
Classified Network Program is a
cost-effective way
for you to get your message
out to over 504,211
readers. Your word or
display ad is
inserted in the classified section,
under the heading of
your choice. Classified
advertising is one
of the most highly read
community newspaper
sections providing a
very effective
advertising vehicle. One insertion
means your ad will
run identically in each
paper
one time during the same week.

Your ad can be placed in one of two ways:
1. Word
Ads: Words only, no graphics, highlighting, or notations.
Base charge is for 25 words or less - $179.00 +hst with a charge for each
additional word of $5.00 +hst per insertion.
2. Display
Ads: Ad is designed with a border. No word limit.
Charge is by the column inch; minimum size 1 column X 1 inch, maximum
size 2 columns X 4 inches. $200 + HST per column inch.
Example 1: You purchase a 1 column x 2 inch ad. Base charge 1 column x 2
inches x $200 + HST = $460.00
Example 2: You purchase a 2 column x 4 inch ad. Base charge 2 column x 4
inches x $200 + HST = $1,840.00
Not all papers have the same column widths, thus your ad will appear in
the same height but slightly different widths in different papers. For
more information please contact the Journal office.
Discounts: Place 5
ads and the 6th is half price. Place 10 ads and the 11th is FREE.
(Ask about discounts available outside Atlantic Canada).
Deadline: For text
only or classified ads the deadline is 5:00pm on Mondays (AST) for
publication the following week. (i.e. for insertion the week of
May 12th the ad material is due May 6th.).
Out of Province Classified Advertising:
Through regional associations we are able to offer you access to
655 weekly/community newspapers
across Canada. You can buy a region or
the entire country. Reach more than five million Canadian Adult Readers
